BLACKHEATH WANDERERS FC
January 2008 Update
Happy New Year to you all and hope that you had a successful, restful and healthy (avoiding the dreaded flu bug)Christmas.
Season 2007 / 2008
The season enters its second half with our sides experiencing mixed fortunes, but with a large number of teams playing in the A divisions for the first time it can take a season or two to settle down. However well done to Ray Webber's Under 14's who currently head the league table and John Bradley's Under 13s who are second in their division of the Bexley League. Our first venture into the Kent League with Billy Crones Under 13's is still a bit of a mystery as they have only managed to play 4 league games, whilst being involved in a number of cup competitions.
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and all of the various league programmes can be completed in good time without the need for a mad rush at the end of the season.
Once again good luck to all the teams in their respective competitions and many thanks for all the hard work and effort from the managers, players and helpers throughout the season.
Fund Raising 2007/2008
Unfortunately a very poor turn out, which was scant reward for the hard work put in by Mark who came up with a much more visual and different approach to the Quiz. However many thanks to those who did turn up and support the night. Please remember that these events are first and foremost a way of raising funds which can be ploughed back in to the boys football, but it also is a way of supporting and promoting the club itself. We choose to run only a few events a year and a lot of hard work goes on in the background to make these happen and it is only worthwhile if they are well supported.
There is a Race Night planned for the coming months so I would hope that we will see a few more people on the night. Watch this space or check with your manager for more details.
Presentation Day
This is currently proposed to take place on Sunday 1st June 2008, but as more details are confirmed over the coming months your managers will keep you posted.
P.S. If your team's homepages are not being updated, nag your manager or even offer your services.
Finally if you have any suggestions for anything you may want to see on the web site let your team manager know and we'll see what we can do.
